Selection Sunday just got a little bit bigger for sports TV. Bomani Jones took to Twitter today to announce that March 13, his show Game Theory with Bomani Jones will premiere on HBO Max.
The show is the latest product born out of producer Adam McKay’s deal with the network. He is also behind the Lakers series Winning Time and the acclaimed Succession.
“We’ll give you facts, stats and the context,” Jones said in his Twitter video. “And it’s HBO, so they’re gonna let me cuss a little bit. Please don’t tell my mama about that.”
Bomani Jones was a guest on The Ringer NBA Show earlier this week and talked about the challenges facing the show. Namely, he knows history isn’t really on his side.
“If there’s anything I would say that’s probably the most challenging thing about this is we are trying to make a format work that as far as I can tell, nobody has been able to make work.”
This is the second project Bomani Jones has done with HBO. He was part of Back on the Record with Bob Costas when the show launched last year.
