Jake Crain Takes ‘JBoy’ Crew To The Daily Wire, Rebrands as ‘Crain & Co.’

Earlier this month, Jake Crain talked to BSM’s Tyler McComas about appearing at this week’s BSM Summit in New York City (March 2-3) and his eagerness to learn from people in the sports radio and podcasting industry.

Of course, plenty will be interested in learning from Crain, whose podcast The JBoy Show has been on a fast rise, notably in his partnership with Colin Cowherd’s The Volume. At the time of Tyler’s conversation with Crain, big plans were on the verge of being announced. Crain couldn’t give specifics, but moving on from The Volume seemed imminent. All he could say was that his podcast was transitioning to “an even bigger platform.”

Now, however — and just in time for the BSM Summit — Crain’s next move has been announced. The JBoy Show is joining The Daily Wire and with the new home comes a new name. The show will be titled Crain & Co., undergo a rebrand, and premieres Monday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. CT.

In an announcement video, Crain repeated the point emphasized in the tweet above: “All ball, no politics,” for anyone worried that the popular SEC and college football podcaster would suddenly lean into politics upon joining Ben Shapiro’s media company.

“We’re going to be talking everything from college football to the NFL, from Major League Baseball to college baseball, from the NBA Playoffs to March Madness, and beyond,” said Crain.

In his conversation with BSM, Crain mentioned that he wanted to avoid being pigeonholed and expand beyond the SEC football box The JBoy Show has largely played in. To grow means talking more sports on a national basis.

“As somebody that started it during quarantine, just on a whim, trying to pass the time, watching it grow from the Believe Network to Colin Cowherd and The Volume,” Crain said in the announcement video, “and now to The Daily Wire — which we are super-excited about them getting into sports and honored they would choose us to be their inaugural sports show — we are going to keep bringing you the same content and we will always be us.”

Crain & Co. premieres Monday, Feb. 28 and will go live Monday through Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. CT on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.
