The Seattle Seahawks certainly have bigger celebrity fans than ESPN’s Mina Kimes. Actors Chris Pratt and Joel McHale and bands like Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains spring to mind. No celebrity fan may be as closely associated with the Seahawks as Kimes though. That is why so many of her colleagues thought about her after Adam Schefter reported that the team was trading Russell Wilson to Denver.
Almost instantly after the tweet went up, former and current ESPN hosts began tagging her.
Concern grew after news broke that the Seahawks would receive Drew Lock as part of the compensation from the Broncos.
For her part, Mina Kimes was relatively calm. She wasn’t happy, but she was calm. Maybe resigned is a better word.
She even had some fun with the day, referencing her spat with former 49ers QB Jeff Garcia after one reporter speculated that the Seahawks may pursue Jimmy Garoppolo in a trade.
Mina Kimes was good natured when colleagues would tweet at her. That wasn’t the case when a division rival sent a tweet to check in on the ESPN analyst.
The replay to the Cardinals set of a whole new round of tweets from Kimes’s colleagues. These were less “are you okay” and more along the lines of “what did you do?”.
