The Golics are back together. Richard Deitsch says Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr will work together again under the DraftKings banner. According to his story for The Athletic, the father and son duo will bring Stugotz of The Dn Le Batard Show along for a new video podcast.
A formal announcement from DraftKings is expected soon. The new video podcast will air daily on DraftKings’ digital platforms. It is expected to debut in time for the NFL season.
Working with Stugotz is something the Golic boys have been plotting for a while. Earlier this year, Golic Sr revealed that if it hadn’t been Trey Wingo, he and his son would have partnered with Stugotz in morning drive on ESPN Radio after Mike Greenberg left Mike & Mike.
In February, Mike Golic Jr announced his departure from ESPN after being part of the radio network for more than six years and calling college football and lacrosse games on TV during that time. DraftKings has not yet formally announced that he is joining the company.
Currently, there has been no news about how this may effect The Dan Le Batard Show. That may not have been entirely worked out yet. Golic Sr. is also doing a podcast with Le Batard producer Jessica Smetana. It is very possible everyone will continue doing all of their current shows to create a shared sports media universe for DraftKings – a sports gambling MCU, if you will.
