Alex Marlow Critical of Karine Jean-Pierre’s Appointment to Press Secretary

Some right-leaning pundits are questioning the ethical standing of the Biden Administration after naming a White House Press Secretary who’s been in a long-term relationship with a CNN correspondent.

Karine Jean-Pierre was named Jen Psaki’s successor Thursday after Psaki revealed that she was leaving the podium on May 13. According to The Daily Mail, Jean-Pierre is a partner of CNN’s national correspondent Suzanne Malveaux, 55, and the pair share a seven-year-old daughter, Soleil.

Jean-Pierre will become the first Black and openly gay person to serve as the White House Press Secretary.

“Karine not only brings the experience, talent, and integrity needed for this difficult job, but she will continue to lead the way in communicating about the work of the Biden-Harris Administration on behalf of the American people,” Biden said in a statement.

The conservative media wasted no time pouncing on Biden’s choice to replace Psaki. Breitbart’s Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow tweeted, ‘this is one of many examples of the corporate media LITERALLY in bed with the government it covers.”

Malveaux joined CNN in 2002, co-anchoring the CNN international news program “Around the World” and editions of “CNN Newsroom.” Malveaux also served as CNN White House correspondent and as a primary substitute to Wolf Blitzer on “The Situation Room.”

“I just want to take the opportunity to celebrate and congratulate my friend, my colleague, my partner in truth Karine Jean-Pierre, the next White House Press Secretary,” Psaki said.
