Sean Salisbury is staying in Houston. The former NFL QB and SportsTalk 790 morning show host has a new contract with the station.
“What a blessing to do what you love for a city that has given me incredible love and support,” he said on Twitter. “Thank you! Blessed with a great company and teammates!”
Salisbury first came to Houston in 2013. At that time, he was part of Yahoo Sports Radio. He stayed with the network as it became SB Nation Radio. His afternoon show was even simulcast on beIN Sports briefly.
In 2018, he moved his show from the national platform to iHeartMedia’s SportsTalk 790, where he has been ever since. He started in afternoon drive and moved to mornings in March of the following year.
“I’m thrilled to continue moving forward with SportsTalk 790, on the Sean Salisbury Show. I get to continue working with iHeart, a great boss, and company that has given me an ocean of support and security,” Salisbury told BSM via text message on Wednesday evening. “I’m grateful for a building filled with incredible teammates. This job matters to me more than most can fathom. Happy is an understatement. The fans in Houston have treated me like family, I love them. I don’t ever take this career for granted”
