Amazon has added another piece to its Thursday Night Football production with the signing of Richard Sherman. The veteran NFL cornerback is officially a part of the streaming platform’s major push into NFL game broadcasting.
Sherman, who was reportedly a part of discussions a month ago to be hired by Amazon, will join Tony Gonzalez as the two officially announced analysts that will contribute in some way to the game pregame, halftime and/or postgame efforts.
Reports are indicating that there are still multiple hires to be made and/or announced. Ryan Fitzpatrick is apparently deep in discussions to join the crew fresh off his retirement. Also being reported is the addition of Fox’s Charissa Thompson to host. The pre-, half, and postgame crew will travel to every game site.
Sherman last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has not officially announced his retirement from playing, however he is not currently on a NFL roster.
