Cumulus Media’s ESPN 630 The Sports Capitol lost Washington Commanders games for 2022. The team left the deal that saw its games air on both that station and Audacy’s 106.7 The Fan.
On Wednesday, the radio station revealed it would not be without NFL football in the coming season. ESPN 630 will be Washington, DC’s home for the Baltimore Ravens.
The station will carry all Ravens’ preseason, regular season, Wild Card, and Divisional Playoff games thanks to a new four-year deal. It will also simulcast pregame and postgame coverage from the team’s flagship radio partners at 98 Rock and WBAL.
“We’re thrilled to expand the reach of Ravens Nation heading into another exciting season,” ESPN 630 Program Director Bill Hess said in a press release.
ESPN 630 The Sports Capitol will also create its own Ravens content. From August to January, the station will create Monday features around the team.
“We are thrilled to partner with ESPN 630 AM and to further distribute the Ravens’ award-winning gameday radio experience,” Kevin Rochlitz, Ravens chief sales officer, stated. “The Ravens and ESPN 630 AM have a shared commitment to providing our audiences with first-class radio content on gameday and beyond. This agreement will enhance and expand our connection to the passionate Ravens fans of the Washington, D.C. metro area.”
