The voice of the Atlanta Braves inside the ballpark since 2007, Casey Motter passed away early Thursday morning.
Motter, who was raised in a suburb of Atlanta, was the voice inside Truist Park, He greeted Braves fans and visitors with a booming “Hellooooo Baseball Fans” as they entered the park.
The news was shared by the Facebook page of Ballpark DJ, a mobile app that uses voice intros and music so fans can experience their own walkups and audio experience especially for youth sports. Motter was the very first voice hired by the app.
The Atlanta Braves also tweeted their condolences about the news. Their statement included, “Motter…joined the Braves as public address announcer in 2007, after former Braves Assistant General Manager Frank Wren heard him announcing a youth football game and invited him to audition for the role.”
The tweet added, “Motter recently reflected on the opportunity to announce the World Series for the 2021 World Champion Braves: ‘It was a dream come true'”.
