Fox News Pair Congratulate Nephew Erik Johnson on Winning Stanley Cup

Fox News personalities Rachel Campos-Duffy and her husband Sean Duffy were more than casual observers during this year’s Stanley Cup Final series.

Their nephew, Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson has played for the team for more than a decade. On Sunday, he helped the Avalanche capture its first title in 20 years.
Johnson recently joined his aunt and uncle on “Fox & Friends Weekend” to talk about the big series win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

“We’re just so proud of you. We think you’re amazing,” said Rachel. “We remember you, you know, practicing as a kid. And to have this moment for you and your family.”

Five years ago, Colorado earned just 48 points, the lowest total for any team playing an 82-game season where one point is earned for losing in overtime or a shootout.

“I think it’s – it’s really just a mindset. I think we had a lot of guys that wanted to stay and be a part of the process and stick with it,” said Johnson. “I think the easy thing would have been just to pull a shot and maybe just get a fresh start.”

The Duffy’s said they plan to get together with their nephew to celebrate his team’s victory and the daughter, Evita, who was recently married.
