Daryl Johnston, better known to many fans as “Moose,” is slated to be named the number two NFL game analyst this season for Fox Sports, per a report from Front Office Sports.
It’s expected Johnston will be paired with Joe Davis on the network’s second NFL coverage team.
Johnston, who has announced games for Fox since retiring in 2001, has previously worked with Kevin Burkhardt. Burkhardt has been elevated to the primary NFL booth for Fox’s NFL coverage, which will announce Super Bowl LVII in February, after the departure of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
Former Bears, Panthers, and Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen is set to serve as the NFL on Fox’s main analyst until the retirement of Tom Brady at which time the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback will immediately enter Fox’s number one booth.
In addition to announcing NFL games for Fox, Johnston also currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the USFL, of which Fox Sports is a minority investor.
