Peter Rosenberg: Don’t Be Surprised If WWE Pay-Per-Views Move to Saturdays

On Thursday, Michael Kay Show co-host and WWE personality Peter Rosenberg joined Jonathan Zaslow on The Zaslow Show in Miamia to talk about WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Saturday.

Zaslow was fired up partly because the event was on a Saturday as opposed to the traditional Sunday. He wondered aloud why WWE hasn’t moved it’s pay-per-view offerings to Saturday yet.

“I guess from a TV standpoint,” began Rosenberg, “it’s the same reason the NBA Finals every year, they go Thursday, Sunday. There is logic to it. People stay home and watch TV on Sundays.”

Zaslow then asked Rosenberg, “When are they going to pull the trigger and make it always Saturday night?”

“Don’t really be surprised if they go all Saturdays,” said Rosenberg. “The only issue they’ll have is occasionally going against that big boxing or UFC.”

Zaslow mentioned that the WWE has done it before, including a recent event in which some of the WWE Superstars actually attended both events.

“I think, honestly, the time is probably coming,” mentioned Rosenberg. “It seems that Nick Khan (WWE President) is into the Saturday thing and I think the things he is into we will see more of.”
