WWJ Anchor Roberta Jasina Departs

In another cut from Audacy, WWJ morning news anchor Roberta Jasina has departed the company.

Jasina had been at all-news WWJ in Detroit for 34 years. In a message posted to Facebook, Jasina said “I have to say my heart was broken. I loved WWJ. I had the best job in the world. I loved going into work every day and trying to serve the listeners to the best of my ability.” She also thanked listeners for their kindness in hearing the news, while also thanking listeners who sent her hate mail, because it made her re-examine how she was operating.

Unfortunately, Jasina, 68, revealed her husband was diagnosed with cancer, the day after she was let go from Audacy. “It has been quite a week,” the former anchor said.
