Len Dawson Dies at 87

Super Bowl winning quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Len Dawson has died at the age of 87.

Dawson, who spent most of his playing career with the Kansas City Chiefs, went on to be a broadcaster for KMBC-TV. He started with the station in 1966 while still playing for the Chiefs, stepping away in 2009. From 1977 to 2001, Dawson hosted Inside the NFL on HBO. He also worked as the color commentator on the Chiefs Radio Network from 1985 through 2017.

Dawson, who entered hospice care on August 12th, was presented with the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award for his media contributions to the NFL in 2012.

The broadcast booth at Arrowhead Stadium is named in his honor.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, and his two children.
