iHeartMedia San Diego Rebrands, Moves Dial Position of XTRA 1360

iHeartMedia San Diego has announced a pair of AM stations will flip positions on the dial and undergo rebrands on Thursday, September 1st.

XTRA 1360 will move to 760 AM and be renamed San Diego Sports 760 with the KGB-AM call letters. KGB-AM features 5,000 watts during the day and 50,000 watts at night, providing a much larger signal for the station. KLSD-AM, the current home of XTRA 1360 has 5,000 daytime watts and just 1,000 watts at night.

“We are committed to delivering an audio sports platform with massive reach for our listeners and partners,” said Noreen Ippolito, President of iHeartMedia’s San Diego/Riverside Region. “Our goal is to reach fans wherever they are through the iHeartRadio App, KGB-FM HD2 simulcast, and on 760 AM’s massive day and night-time signal which can be heard all over the west coast.”

  1. Very disappointing and a terrible idea! No more Armstrong and Getty? I guess it’s back to KOGO for me. I hope your ratings go right into the tank and someone gets canned!!

  2. I’m not a guy that ever leaves comments on posts , but seriously? How could you drop Armstrong and Getty ? And for Glen Beck ?? I don’t think you have any idea how many thousands of listeners you will absolutely lose in that morning slot.

  3. Armstrong and Getty were about 90% of the reason I ever listened to the channel. Too many people convinced that change is always progress I guess. Very disappointed.

  4. Wow someone didn’t do their homework, at least bump up the power? Watch your new 1360 go down the drain. Will be entertaining to see the quality of advertiser’s drop to just add counsel crap…

  5. Wow so disappointed. I listened every day, every time I got in the car. I agree with else I think this was a mistake. I won’t be switching to the new channel.

  6. Don’t you get it? We are being cancelled.

Commercials are ill time and overplaying content. 6 commercials on a roll.

    Weak signal and all.

Time to cancel the distributer and move to a new source.
