White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is taking some heat from right-leaning pundits for her response to questions about America’s fentanyl crisis.
On Wednesday, “The Five” co-host Dana Perino talked about Jean-Pierre’s response to Fox News White Correspondent Peter Doocy’s questioning about the role the Biden administration’s border policy plays in perpetuating the drug epidemic.
“The thing that I don’t think that the White House understands is that the reason this issue resonates in places like New Hampshire and Vermont is because they — people can inherently understand that a generation is having to deal with this,” Perino said.
For the last couple of days, Doocy has pressed Jean-Pierre on border policy questions. Wednesday, he asked her what the president was doing to secure the Southern border.
“Well, she has to do a job because she got a job to do and she doesn’t have good answers,” Perino said. “So, she’s trying to do her best there. I don’t think there was a lot there for her to work with.”
“I really encourage people to read this Wall Street Journal piece about the two Mexican drug cartels that are fighting and trying to, well, they get the drugs, the precursor stuff, the chemicals from China,” added Perino.
