After a thrilling 38-31 win over West Virginia in the resurrection of the Backyard Brawl, Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi was focused on making sure people knew he, his team, and Pitt fans felt disrespected by ESPN.
Earlier in the week, College Football Live showed a graphic with statistics from VividSeats.com that said 75% of tickets sold to the Backyard Brawl were purchased by West Virginia fans, which Narduzzi took issue with.
“ESPN had some bad facts,” Narduzzi said in the postgame press conference. “They disrespected our fans, and our fans showed up. They were unbelievable all day today.”
Narduzzi’s comments in the postgame press conference came after he levied the same criticism on SportsCenter to Scott Van Pelt immediately following the victory.
