Southern Media Interactive is selling its three stations and four translators, currently branded as ESPN Coastal Georgia, to Shanks Broadcasting.
Shanks Broadcasting currently owns stations braded as Sports Superstations in Fort Valley, Macon, Montezuma, Rochelle, and Pinehurst, Georgia. The ESPN Coastal Georgia stations reside in Hilton Head, SC (which also services the Savannah, GA market), Brunswick, and Blackshear, Georgia.
The newly acquired stations will air The Bill King Show from 7:00 AM-9:00 AM, The Dan Patrick Show from 9:00 AM-11:00AM, Midday Sports Zone with Russ Brown and Dan Shirley from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, The Chuck Oliver Show from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, and station owner Bill Shanks from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. Three & Out, hosted by Kevin Thomas, B.J. Bennett, and Ben Troupe has not been retained by Shanks Broadcasting.
In addition to a new daily lineup, the ESPN Coastal Georgia stations will air ESPN Radio programming on nights and weekends, while adding the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks. The stations in Brunswick and Blackshear will also carry Georgia Southern athletic events.
