On Tuesday, “The View” premiered its 26th season as the show returned from its summer hiatus and featured its new co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin.
The roundtable discussed the recent remarks made by President Joe Biden calling Trumpism “semi-fascism.” As a result, Farah Griffin defended the supporters of former President Donald Trump.
“I take a little bit of issue with him applying the term semi-fascism broadly to Republicans,” Farrah Griffin said (h/t The Hill). “Do I think Donald Trump is a fascist … I think Donald Trump is. I think the vast majority of his supporters are not.”
Additionally, “The View” co-host stated that Trump supporters “are good people who want an economy that works for them, who saw more money in their paycheck under Donald Trump.”
When Biden won the 2020 election, many expected the president to unite the country after four years under Trump. Still, Farrah Griffin continued by saying that the speech made by Biden wasn’t uniting.
Farrah Griffin was hired this summer by ABC alongside pundit Ana Navarro to fill a seat on “The View” vacated by Meghan McCain.
