CNN announced on Thursday that Don Lemon would be transitioning from primetime to morning host as the network revamps its morning show.
Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins will join Lemon as their show will debut later this year with a new name, format and set. Nonetheless, the news of the program caused commentator Keith Olbermann to take a shot at the network and CNN boss Chris Licht.
“Chris Licht (who, when we worked together at MSNBC, I believed used to eat paste) has now surrounded Don Lemon with an ex-Daily Caller “journalist” and somebody who last month demanded an apology from Biden to Republicans,” Olbermann tweeted. “The @CNN Shitstorm is here.”
Olbermann didn’t stop his criticism at Licht and Collins; the former MSNBC anchor also took a shot at CNN anchor Brianna Keilar.
“And Brianna Keilar’s cut-and-pasted complaint about Biden’s marines, and doubling and tripling down on this pathetic and hypocritical conservative talking point, did not save her,” Olbermann added.
“You can never be sufficiently doctrinaire for TV fascists like Licht and John Malone.”
“New Day” host John Berman and Brianna Keilar will continue to anchor their morning show until the new program premieres. Both will take new roles at the network later this year. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
