There is only one sports radio station in Canada’s third largest city and fans are going to notice some changes. Sportsnet 650 in Vancouver announced on Tuesday that the lineup is changing to make room for 2 new shows.
A new one-hour show all about the Toronto Raptors will debut later this month. It will be hosted by Will Lou and Alex Wong and originate from Ontario, closer to the team’s home.
The other new show will be a podcast that makes the move to the airwaves. The Hockey PDOcast has been popular with the hockey analytics crowd. Host Dimitri Filipovic will now bring the show to Sportsnet 650 every weekday at 2 pm.
As a result of new shows on the schedule, The People’s Show loses an hour. The now hour-long show will feature Bik Nazaar as host. Former host Randip Janda has teased on Twitter that he will not go far, although he is yet to reveal what that means.
Canucks Talk will remain a two-hour show with hosts Thomas Drance and Jamie Dodd. It now moves to the noon slot.
Finally, Canucks Central will add an hour. The show, hosted by Satiar Shah and Dan Riccio, will now go from 4 until 7 pm.
Morning programming on Sportsnet 650 includes Halford and Brough in the Morning and the nationally syndicated Jeff Marek Show. Those shows will continue to air in their current time slots.
