After taking a leave of absence, CNN anchor Jim Sciutto is “expected to return in a few weeks”.
CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy reported in his Reliable Sources newsletter that network sources revealed his return is expected sooner rather than later. Noting the anchor’s absence comes after being “the subject of an internal HR probe over conduct that occurred earlier this year”.
The Daily Beast’s Confider newsletter reported earlier this week Sciutto suffered a “serious fall” in Amsterdam while returning from an assignment in Ukraine. CNN reportedly offered Sciutto a direct flight to the United States from Poland, but instead traveled through Amsterdam.
CNN reportedly directed Sciutto to address “a personal situation“.
Sciutto anchors CNN Newsroom from 9:00-11:00 AM weekdays with Poppy Harlow, until she transitions to the network’s new, yet-to-be-named morning show.
