CNN’s Chris Wallace appeared on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” where the two discussed the current state of news media.
Wallace, who hosts a weekly talk show on CNN and HBO Max, stated that the ability to consume the news 24/7 is a change that isn’t for the better in the former Fox News anchor’s eyes.
“The world has changed, and you know, you don’t get your news at 6:30 at night,” Wallace told Maher. “You’re getting it all day, and you can get it on your phone or, as you say, Facebook or Instagram or TikTok or whatever.
“But the world has definitely changed, and not for the better in terms of the desire to get the straight facts and to have your preconceptions be challenged by what reality is. People don’t want reality. They want their view.”
During the interview, Wallace also revealed to Maher that he became “a bit bored” with politics after years of political coverage. As a result, it led to jumping on the opportunity to join CNN.
On his show “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” the host can venture outside the political sphere as he incorporates different interests and guests from diverse backgrounds.
