Joe Pags: Social Media Outlets Shouldn’t Boot Kanye West

A week after making headlines for an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, rapper Kanye West was kicked off Twitter and Instagram for alleged antisemitic posts.

Nationally syndicated radio host Joe Pags said Monday that it’s weird and unfair that West was booted off social media.

According to Deadline, Meta said Instagram deleted content from West’s Instagram page and placed a restriction on the account. However, specifics on what content was removed or the rules that were violated were not revealed.

“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up, I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” said West, also known as Ye. “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jews also You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

“The thing I don’t understand is if somebody is going to be suspended or banned, you shouldn’t be allowed to talk about them,” Pags said. “Mike Lindell trended again over the weekend. I don’t know why but he was one of the top trends, but he’s not allowed to defend himself.”

Pags said he’s all for people talking about West’s comments but allowing West to respond accordingly if he chooses to do so.

“I have no clue what death con 3 means,” Pags added. “But again, he has a right to say it as long as he’s not doing it. The First Amendment was actually put into law to protect hate speech. It was put into place to protect speech that people don’t like.”
