The YES Network saw a dramatic increase in its Yankees ratings from last season thanks in part to the team being good and a record-chasing pursuit by one of its players.
YES averaged 368,000 total viewers for its Yankees games in the New York DMA, a 27% year-over-year increase (290,000). That total is the network’s best for a Yankees campaign since 2011.
Yankees primetime games ranked #1 in the New York DMA on YES in total viewers for 32 of 43 consecutive games at the end of the season. Also, YES averaged at least 400,000 total viewers during forty-five of the team’s games on the network. Eleven games averaged at least 500,000 and six topped a 600,000 total viewer average.
