Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder has been under fire for several controversies that have happened under his watch, with some calling for him to be forced to sell the franchise. However, a report from ESPN’s Don Van Natta Jr., Seth Wickersham, and Tisha Thompson claims Snyder has told confidants he has “dirt” on NFL owners and Roger Goodell. David Samson, a frequent contributor to The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, says the report puts Amazon Prime Video in a tight spot.
The ESPN report says Snyder told “a close associate” he has secrets that could “blow up several NFL owners, the league office, and even commissioner Roger Goodell”. “They can’t f*** with me,” Snyder is alleged to have said.
Samson is the former President of the Montreal Expos and the Miami Marlins. He told Le Batard he doesn’t believe Amazon Prime Video will discuss the topic on the broadcast tonight.
“Amazon has a huge decision to make tonight with Al Michaels,” said Samson. “Are they going to discuss this? And that will be done in consultation with the NFL, and I can bet you dollars to donuts this story does not come up on the broadcast tonight.”
Samson compared Snyder to Arte Moreno, owner of the Los Angeles Angels, as the NFL’s most unpopular owner. He then said Snyder has his faults, like the rest of us, and wondered what the next step is for ESPN — who reported the story — as well as the NFL.
“Who amongst us is perfect? Who amongst us would want to be followed 24 hours a day by anyone? That would not be great for just about anyone I know. Me included. Therefore, what’s next? And I think that ESPN needs to think about this and the NFL needs to think about this.”
