Amazon Prime Video and its production of Thursday Night Football has received mixed reviews from various outlets, but the company’s Vice President of Global Sports Video Marie Donoghue believes it has one of the best reporters available in Taylor Rooks.
In an interview for The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast, Donoghue told Andrew Marchand of The New York Post and John Ourand of Sports Business Journal that Rooks has the uncanny ability to get the best out of all her interview subjects.
“Taylor is one of — except for you two — the best interviewer in the sports business. As you sit down to a meal with Taylor, you will tell her anything. This happens to us all the time. We’re going on site every week — which is really exciting for fans, we hope, but also for us because we all get to spend a lot of time — she’s phenomenal. She gets athletes to talk to her and tell her things. Just amazing conversations.
Amazon Prime Video hired Rooks as a feature reporter for its coverage of Thursday Night Football in August. In addition to her work with Amazon, Rooks also serves as reporter for the NBA on TNT and for Bleacher Report.
