Dana Loesch: John Fetterman’s Wife Is Attacking Free Press

Last week, many in the news media commented on the interview done by NBC News’ Dasha Burns, who stated his inability to follow their small-talk conversation ahead of the interview without using the closed captioning assistance.

Now The Independent reported on Monday that Fetterman’s wife, Gisele Baretto Fetterman, is criticizing NBC News.

“If this happened in a school, if this was a child that was ableist towards another child or a teacher, there would’ve been issues stated. There would have been new training done,” she told The Independent.

“What is being done at the media after a reporter came out so openly ableist towards a person? I think shocked and appalled, but sadly not surprised. I know there’s still so much to do, but it would be great to see some accountability, to actually see real change.”

These remarks by Fetterman’s wife caused a reaction from radio host Dana Loeschwho stated that her demanding an apology from NBC News is an “attack on our sacred free press must not stand.”

No word yet on whether NBC News will respond, but Burns did defend her reporting from fellow media members criticizing her, including podcaster Kara Swisher.

“It’s possible for two different reporters to have two different experiences w a candidate,” Burns said in her defense. “Our team was in the room w him & reported what happened in it, as journalists do. Before & after closed captioning was on.”
