Syndicated radio host Joe Pags was quick to defend Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake during a Twitter beef with podcaster Joe Walsh.
Lake has been targeted by some political pundits who claim she’s an election denier with close ties to former President Donald Trump who’s currently being investigated for his alleged role in the Jan 6th riots.
Last weekend, Lake told CNN that she was going to win her race. When pressed about whether she would accept the results she replied, “I’m going to win the election, and I will accept that result.”
Joe Walsh, former U.S. Rep who recently announced his departure from the Republican party, repeated Lake’s claims on Twitter.
“@KariLake absolutely did refuse to say she’d accept the results if she lost,” Walsh tweeted. “I assume you know that. And I hope you believe that’s wrong. If you’d like to discuss it, come on my podcast. DM me. Otherwise, take the easy way out & just keep taking personal shots at me.”
Pags quote tweeted Walsh accusing him of using Lake’s statement to get clicks. Walsh then invited Pags on his podcast to discuss the issue.
“You want access to my national audience, you’re welcome on my radio show,” Pags added. “Understand, I don’t understand why you made the turn. @KariLake did NOT say she wouldn’t accept losing — she simply said she plans to win. You know this.”
