In an upcoming Oct. 28 episode of “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” the comedian and host interviewed Arizona’s attorney general Mark Brnovich ahead of the upcoming midterm elections on Nov. 8.
The show’s Twitter account shared a snippet of the interview and MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan praised Stewart but also highlighted that the comedian remains one of the “best interviewers on US TV.”
Additionally, Hasan wants many in the news media to follow Stewart’s lead even if interviewing what the MSNBC host calls “gaslighting or evasive Republicans.”
“Yet another reminder that @jonstewart, a comedian, remains one of the best interviewers on US TV, & a reminder to all my colleagues in the US news media that it is possible to do tough, challenging interviews, even with gaslighting or evasive Republicans,” Hasan tweeted on Tuesday. “It’s necessary, in fact.”
With Stewart back in a news media role, it’s another reminder that his past show, “The Daily Show,” will be losing its host Trevor Noah, who will be exiting in December after replacing Stewart.
Rather than replace Noah as they did Stewart with a single host, there’s reporting that Comedy Central could appoint a duo or trio host and take a different direction.
