HBO has announced the second season of Game Theory with Bomani Jones will debut on Friday, January 20th.
The show sees Jones share satirical takes on sports and culture through monologues, sketches, and longform conversations.
“I do feel a bit more urgency this time around,” Jones told The Jason Barrett Podcast about the show’s second season. “I really was just so happy to be there last time. I didn’t have time to care about a seventh episode. This is the stuff therapists talk about. I was being present. It feels a little different because what’s possible feels different.
“The possibility is this feels like a show that could be on for years and years. I actually now know what I’m doing. I was learning how to do this type of television show before. Now I know how to do it. Not that we had excuses before, but the excuses are fewer now. And I want this to be a thing, I want it to — I would love for our show to be like John Oliver, where you open your news app and they’re telling you what John Oliver was talking about last night, no matter what it happens to be.”
Jones continues to contribute to shows on HBO, in addition to his work at ESPN with his The Right Time with Bomani Jones podcast.
