Colin Cowherd: ‘I’m Gonna Die On The Air’

Colin Cowherd isn’t planning on retiring anytime soon. In fact, during his podcast Friday, he explained that he’s going to work until he dies.

“Folks, many of you hate me,” Cowherd said. “Here’s the bad news: I’m gonna die on the air. I’m gonna be 88-years-old giving sports takes. My teeth are gonna fall out of my mouth on the air.”

The comments came after the FOX Sports didn’t understand the rumors constantly circulating around Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay about him potentially leaving coaching to work in a media role.

“Sean McVay has intimated like two or three times in the last six months that he’s going to retire early. 36 years old, and he’s gonna retire early. And I laugh at this. Pete Carroll is 70-years-old. Have you ever seen him on the sideline? Does he look miserable? You know who’s miserable? Old guys walking around a mall with their wives at 74-years-old. They don’t want to be doing that. They’ve got nothing to do.

“Go to any mall in America at 10:00 AM, see those guys with tennis shoes on, 75-year-old man, the kind that you velcro. And they’re sitting over there, wearing their Dockers, walking around, and they’re f—ing miserable. Absolutely miserable. They can’t wait to have their first gin and tonic at 12:15 PM. They wanna be sauced by the time Matlock comes on. Sean McVay will never find anything that makes him happier — and I’m not talking about wife (or) kids, that’s the happiest I ever am, that’s the happiest you are — but this idea, this race to retire? Come on, man.”
