MLS Season Pass is coming to Apple.
The tech giant announced the name and price point of its Major League Soccer streaming service Wednesday, updating previously unknown details about the upcoming service. In June, Apple and Major League Soccer agreed to a 10-year contract that features a NFL Sunday Ticket-style service that will see every MLS game shown on the service with no local blackouts.
The platform will cost $14.99 per month or $99 for the entire season. Existing AppleTV+ subscribers will be offered a discounted rate of $12.99 per month or $79 per season. Season ticket holders of each MLS franchise will also be given a complimentary subscription.
Similar to its Friday Night Baseball series, Apple will make select matches available for free on the AppleTV+ app.
“There isn’t a more perfect time to introduce MLS Season Pass, coming off the heels of the most dramatic MLS Cup in history and with MLS as the fastest-growing soccer league in the world,” said Apple Senior Vice President of Services Eddy Cue. “We’re counting down the days to February 2023 when fans everywhere can enjoy MLS Season Pass on billions of devices — all with no blackouts.”
To promote the service, each of the 29 MLS franchises will wear Apple TV patches on their jersey sleeves for the 2023 season.
