Syndicated radio personality Erick Erickson credited Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin with his frontline work, reporting on the crisis at the U.S. Southern border.
Erickson’s comments were made during his show Wednesday. Erickson criticized other mainstream media outlets for ignoring the story until after the election.
“Fox News’ Bill Melugin has been the only guy for quite some time to worry about, think about, ponder the border,” said Erickson. “He’s been in South Texas, the guy is from California, the Biden administration is so furious with his coverage that they’re attacking him as Abercrombie boy.”
According to Fox News, Melugin joined the network in 2021. Prior to joining FNC, Melugin served as an investigative reporter for KTTV-TV Los Angeles where he was awarded three local Emmy awards for investigative reporting within a four-year span.
“Melugin worked at Abercrombie and Fitch, he was a model and then he got into reporting,” said Erickson. “The Biden administration is trying to use that against him and say he’s not a smart guy, but he is a very smart guy. He’s been covering the border and the Democrats are furious about it.”
Erickson stated that Melugin’s reporting coupled with the drone that he’s using shows the mass humanitarian crisis at the southern border.
“No one else has covered the border,” Erickson added. “The reason the mainstream media didn’t cover the border was the election.”
