Amazon Prime Video NFL analyst Richard Sherman created headlines earlier this week for his conduct during an interview with Brock Huard and Mike Salk on Seattle Sports 710, and WFAN morning host Boomer Esiason believes Sherman could have handled the situation better than he did.
After playing a clip from the contentious interview, Esiason said the former All-Pro needed to learn to handle things in stride.
“Given Richard Sherman’s recent history, I think you would try to do everything you can to just laugh it off or whatever,” Esiason said. “Things that this radio host said about him or whatever, just laugh it off.”
The “recent history” Esiason spoke of harkens back to Sherman’s arrest in July of last year for domestic violence and resist arrest, among other charges after trying to break into the home of his in-laws after police said he drunkenly crashed his car.. He later pled guilty to lesser charges and was sentenced to two days in jail.
“He trash talked guys on the field all the time,” Gregg Giannotti added.
“He just doesn’t get it,” Esiason claimed.
“If I was Mike Salk, I’d ask ‘What did I say?’, ’cause I wanna know what he heard,” Giannotti concluded. “What have you been hanging onto for all these years that you’re so pissed off that you won’t answer a question from me?”
