Joe Giglio and Hugh Douglas Take Midday Slot on 94 WIP

Hugh Douglas is staying with Audacy, but he is leaving Atlanta. He will partner with Joe Giglio to form the new midday show on 94 WIP when DeCamara and Ritchie move into morning drive.

Angelo Cataldi is set to retire from the station when the Eagles’ season ends. He told Parkins & Spiegel last week that he will be on air for one week after the final Eagles game of the season, and if they win the Super Bowl, he will stay until the championship parade. That timeline will coincide with the debut of the new midday show.

Douglas played in the NFL for ten years, spending time with the Jets, Eagles and Jaguars. He has been part of the morning show at 92.9 The Game in Atlanta since 2014 working alongside John Fricke.

“The best years of my NFL career were in Philly, and I cut my teeth in broadcasting at WIP,” Hugh Douglas said in a press release. “I’m so excited to be back and hosting middays with Joe Giglio. I’m coming home!”

Joe Giglio has been a busy guy. He has hosted the evening show at 94 WIP since 2017. He has also done a few fill-in shows for Cataldi, who has not been working on Wednesdays this year. In addition to his work on Philadelphia radio, Giglio also hosts BetQL Daily weekdays at 9 am on the BetQL network.

“I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to be part of the next midday show on WIP,” he said. “Joe and Jon have set a standard to become appointment listening for every Philadelphia sports fan over the last five-plus years, and I can’t wait to do the same with an Eagles legend, Hugh Douglas. Doing a daily show for the most passionate sports fans in the country is a privilege, and I’m thrilled to get rolling during one of the most exciting eras we’ve ever seen!”

Rhea Hughes and producer James Seltzer will remain in morning drive. Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie will join them following Cataldi’s exit.
