104.5 KSLQ-FM has flipped to a new all-podcast format as the calendar turns to 2023.
The station owned by Brad Hildebrand is branding the station as Podcastrr (sic), launching with already existing podcasts while giving the opportunity for listeners and advertising clients to create their own podcasts to air on the station.
“I’m tired of reading Inside Radio about how some guy who started a podcast biz 14 months ago just got $46 million from some Fortune 500 company,” Hildebrand told Talkers. “And yet radio stations with huge audiences are being bought up for practically nothing by EMF so they can put the same programming on the 2000th station.”
Hildebrand claims his streaming numbers tripled on the third day of his new format compared to previous numbers with his AC format.
KSLQ is licensed to Washington, Missouri, located roughly 50 miles from downtown St. Louis. It’s 3,000 watt power covers the majority of the city’s western suburbs.
