Syndicated radio host Dan Bongino blamed the media for “gaslighting” the public about President Joe Biden’s trip to the border last weekend.
Bongino made the comments during his radio show Monday. The former U.S. Secret Service agent who was once assigned to protect the president said that it’s no coincidence that Biden made the trip during a news cycle dominated by the House Speaker vote.
“Notice how conservative and other right-leaning media outlets are reporting on this at all,” said Bongino. “You will hear nothing from media people that are acting exactly like Pravda and the North Korea media act.”
Biden’s visit took place in El Paso, Texas. Officials on the ground told Fox News Digital that migrant encampments were cleaned up ahead of the president’s trip.
“I just want to remind you for the third time that this (crisis) is real,” Bongino said. “Gaslighting is getting you to believe in an alternate reality. The media does this in conjunction with the libs, academics, elitists, and Hollywood types.”
“They get you to believe that the real world is the one that they live in,” he added. “The components of gaslighting are very simple. You must lie about the world and you must lie confidently.”
