Howie Carr: Jimmy Fallon’s Days As Talk Show Host Are Numbered

National talk show host Howie Carr discussed the demise of late-night talk shows during a segment on Monday. Carr said Jimmy Fallon and others are struggling to keep pace with the likes of Fox News stars Tucker Carlson and Greg Gutfeld.

“If you’ve never heard desperation, today is your lucky day. Late-night shows are dying out,” Carr stated. “And we’ll be happy to see them all go. Stephen [Colbert], Seth [Meyers], and Jimmy [Fallon], are no match for Tucker or Greg Gutfeld.”

According to Radar Online, NBC executives regret signing Jimmy Fallon to an $80 million extension with Fallon drawing less than half of the audience that Gutfeld is. Although Fallon has a robust YouTube page, the numbers do little to satisfy advertisers on his television show.

Fallon is also receiving criticism for a skit he performed about COVID-19.

“For this he gets an $80 million contract for five years,” said Carr. “Jimmy Fallon’s ratings are tumbling and his days in the spotlight are numbered, although I am sure he’s laughing all the way to the bank.”

“But maybe he can sing about fender-benders or blocked arteries next time, that always gets the crowd going,” Carr added facetiously.
