Kevin Rincon Joining 1010 WINS as Midday Anchor

CBS 2 reporter Kevin Rincon has announced he will be joining 1010 WINS as its new midday anchor.

It is a return to the station for Rincon, who worked as an anchor and reporter with the station in 2014 and 2015. Previously, he has worked at CBS Radio, as a freelance anchor and reporter for Entercom, and as a local reporter for WOKV on Jacksonville’s Morning News. He has been a general assignment reporter at CB 2 since February of 2020.

“I hope to continue building on the rich history at a station that to me has always represented the heart and soul of NYC,” he said in his announcement of the move.

Also in his announcement, Rincon noted he learned to speak English by listening to 1010 WINS.

“When I was a kid, my mom would have me sit in the car for hours and listen to 1010 WINS so I could learn to speak English without an accent. To this day people still seem amazed when they hear me speak fluent Spanish & Portuguese.”

Rincon will partner with Lynda Lopez on middays after she recently joined the New York all-news station. Lopez, who had previously worked for WCBS had recently been working as a Senior Adviser at the Department of Education. With Lopez joining 1010 WINS in middays, Brigitte Quinn moved over to anchor middays on WCBS.
