CNN This Morning anchor Don Lemon doesn’t believe you can use The New York Post to fact-check anything, and he made those feelings clear Tuesday morning.
After a somewhat contentious interview between Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and his CNN This Morning co-host Kaitlan Collins regarding potential investigations into Joe Biden and his handling of classified documents, Lemon shared his disbelief that Comer would cite The New York Post to back up his claims.
“That’s the time that we’re in,” Lemon said. “Where facts are sort of flexible and you just throw things out there – citing uncredible sources, like citing The New York Post as a credible source and saying that facts are – it’s just, I can’t believe that we’re here.”
He then added it’s a “big issue when it comes to the American people” saying some “don’t believe in facts. We don’t have a shared reality,” calling it “a sad time for America”.
Lemon’s admonishment of The Post comes days after a report from the outlet claimed he had an “outburst” directed towards Collins during CNN This Morning on Thursday, December 8th after the pair had spoken over each other multiple times.
A CNN spokesperson refuted the report, saying “Don, Kaitlan, and Poppy were friends before they were co-anchors and they remain friends today.”
