University of Minnesota Signs New Deal With iHeartMedia Minneapolis

The Golden Gophers have a new deal with iHeartMedia. The Minneapolis radio stations that have been the home to the University of Minnesota football and basketball teams will keep them for the foreseeable future.

“iHeartMedia Minneapolis is proud to continue our partnership with Gopher Athletics and Learfield through the 2026-27 athletic season,” said Greg Alexander, iHeartMedia’s market president in Minneapolis, said in a press release. “We’re excited to use our scale and reach to bring Gopher sports to fans throughout Minneapolis and nationwide on the iHeartRadio app.”

Gopher Sports Properties and iHeartMedia have agreed to a new contract that will keep the Golden Gophers on KFAN, KFAN+, and KTLK through the end of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Football games will continue to air exclusively on KFAN. Men’s basketball games will be split between KFAN and KTLK. Men’s hockey games will be heard on KTLK. KFAN+ will be the exclusive home of Minnesota women’s hockey.

“iHeart Minneapolis has been an outstanding partner, and we’re pleased to secure a multi-year extension with Greg and his team, knowing they’ll continue to provide best-in-class opportunities for fans to follow the Gophers,” Gopher Sports Properties VP/GM Greg Gerlach added.
