Ian Rapoport: Some Of My Sources Think It’s Funny Not To Break News For Pat McAfee

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport wishes he could break big NFL stories while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, but unfortunately that’s just not in the cards a good portion of the time.

Rapoport broke the news on Monday that quarterback Derek Carr would be signing with the New Orleans Saints, and not long after Rapoport’s appearance on NFL Network talking about the deal, McAfee had some fun with Ian.

“Joining us now is a guy who can break every piece of information in every news article the NFL has moments after exiting our show EVERY F–KING TIME!” McAfee said. “Ian Rapoport.”

Rapoport explained that it’s all about the on-call nature of his job.

“Sometimes people think it’s funny to not break news on your show,” Rapoport said. “I just wanted to make sure I’m available to the people to explain what the Derek Carr numbers actually mean since I know the meaning is important.”

“Thank you for being such a hero Ian. Honestly,” McAfee responded.

Pat went on to say he would appreciate it if Rapoport’s sources would tip him off with enough time to break news on his show.

“Come on, what’s the deal? Let’s send the info a little bit earlier,” McAfee said. “You know he comes on every Monday.”
