Former Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) and 2016 Republican Presidential hopeful has joined MSNBC as an analyst.
Kasich joined The Beat with Ari Melber Monday where he was introduced in his new role.
The two-term Ohio governor — who was bested by former President Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican primary — has been an outspoken critic of the 45th President. He refused to attend the 2016 Republican National Convention — which was held in Ohio — after the party nominated Trump.
During his first appearance on the network, the 70-year-old Kasich equated the current political landscape to that of a circus.
It is a return to cable news for Kasich. He was previously a contributor at CNN, joining the network in 2019 after his second and final term as Governor of Ohio ended. He also hosted Heartland With John Kasich on Fox News in the early 2000s after concluding a nearly 20-year run in the House of Representatives.
