Doug Gottlieb: Colin Cowherd Is Going To Defend Draymond Green Because He’s With The Volume

Draymond Green has a bright media future, and FOX Sports Radio host Doug Gottlieb said it’s clear now that Green considers his on-court actions as entertainment value.

During his In The Bonus podcast, Gottlieb argued that Green has on-court persona has become too much.

“What are you doing getting up on a table, yelling, and antagonizing an opposing crowd? Who does that? Except for somebody who thinks of all of this in its entertainment value, not in you’re here to win a game and a championship and the entertainment comes along with that,” Gottlieb said.

“I’d like to be more sympathetic to Draymond because I don’t think anything he did in the game warranted a suspension. I actually don’t think he should have been ejected for it. I find it hard because he has to know he carries that badge. He has to know they’re coming at him. The Commissioner was there. I’m sure he feels a little bit mortified by Draymond’s behavior and the purely entertainment, pro-wrestling style in which he handled the ejection.”

Gottlieb then discussed some of the reactions to Green’s actions and argued that his FOX Sports Radio colleague — Colin Cowherd — is going to defend Green because of their business relationship.

“It’s weird. Colin will come to Draymond’s defense, but it has to be mentioned that Draymond’s podcast runs on Colin’s The Volume network, others will come at Draymond because they just don’t like the Warriors…I try and see it for what it is. I think he got screwed by the league.”
