Warner Bros. Discovery is expanding All Elite Wrestling’s footprint according to Andrew Zarian of the Wrestling Observer and Figure Four Online. The two companies have reportedly green-lit a third show called Collision.
Collision would join AEW’s flagship show, Dynamite, on TNT. It’s believed the show will also be two hours long like Dynamite. AEW airs an hour-long show on Fridays on TBS called Rampage.
This new show would reportedly air on Saturdays from 8-10 p.m.
While not directly competing, AEW will now have additional programming to go up against WWE, which also airs three shows a week on USA Network and FOX. AEW also just launched a documentary-style behind the scenes show called All Access, which airs Wednesdays on TBS.
Last week, James Andres Miller said that there are people inside of Warner Bros. Discovery that want WWE’s TV rights when they become available next year. He did not know if the plan would be to replace AEW or carry both of the top professional wrestling promotions.
While there is still time before WWE begins negotiating a new contract and there is no guarantee the rights to Raw or Smackdown ever hit the open market, adding a third AEW show to the schedule does make it hard to imagine TBS and/or TNT can find room for both promotions’ TV offerings.
