Two CBS News Radio reporters have exited the organization as part of cutbacks.
CBS News West Coast Correspondent Steve Futterman has exited. The only CBS News Radio reporter based in Los Angeles, Futterman joined the network in 1998. Before joining the outlet, he worked at NPR, BBC, CBC, and NBC Radio.
CBS News Radio Executive Editor and Washington D.C. Correspondent Steve Dorsey has also departed the network. Dorsey’s reporting has also been featured on CBS television programs like CBS Weekend News and CBS Saturday Morning.
He was the first reporter to cover the unexplained injuries of American officials in Cuba. ‘Havana Syndrome’ caused pain and ringing in the ears of 26 American diplomats. The CIA has determined that the issues were not caused by “a sustained global campaign by a hostile power”.
Additionally, Dorsey covered both the 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns for CBS News Radio.
It remains to be seen whether or not there will be more cuts made by CBS News Radio.
