KRMG has announced it will expand its afternoon news program by an extra hour.
The KRMG Afternoon News with Skyler Cooper will now be heard from 4:00-6:00 PM on the Tulsa station in what it calls a continuance of its “dominance of local news coverage”.
“Skyler is a Tulsa native and understands the landscape of our community and offers a unique perspective that you won’t find anywhere else,” said KRMG Director of Branding and Programming Levi May. “KRMG is dedicated to covering our community and this move shows our listeners that we follow through with our ongoing commitment to be their go-to for all things local.”
Cooper began hosting the program in 2021. He has been with the Cox Media Group station for 11 years, and was the recipient of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Personality of the Year in 2022.
“I’m thrilled to expand our local news programming in the afternoons,” Cooper said of the now two-hour program. “Our listeners told us they wanted a change and we listened. We’ll keep the same news, weather, traffic, and talk that our listeners already enjoy, we’ll just be starting earlier!”
I really miss hearing Sean Hannity at 4pm. I get off work at 4pm on Thursdays, and looked forward to that 1 hour of listening to his show. Also, I had enjoyed Dana Loesch from 6pm-9pm in the evenings. Why did you move her to 3am? Erik E. just isn’t as interesting as Dana.
