Former KCBS traffic reporter Mitch Thompson has died.
In a post on the station’s website announcing his death, Thompson was remembered for “His sense of humor and ability to bring people together were among his most special qualities. Mitch would commonly host parties and would encourage his guests to participate in games, from Jenga to Foosball to Checkers and Go Fish, providing fun prizes to winners of the night.”
After 20 years as the station’s midday traffic reporter, Thompson retired from KCBS on March 31st, 2017.

“He was a light for all of us and we will miss him,” KCBS concluded.
Mitch Thompson was 63.
