Howie Carr Stable After Collapsing On Air

Radio host Howie Carr is stable in a Boston hospital after collapsing on air during a Monday interview.

Carr began Monday’s program by saying he did not feel well after a recent medical procedure. During an interview with an advertiser, he began to slump over and passed out.

The video feed for the program was subsequently cut while the radio show went to commercial. Guest host Toby Leary — who was scheduled to host the 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM hours of the program — returned after the break to host the remainder of the show.

“Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for Howie,” Carr’s family wrote on Twitter. “During his show today, he fainted. He is getting care now and doing better.”

Carr’s wife told Boston 25 News that one of their grandchildren had contracted Norovirus and spread it to the radio host. He will reportedly take time off before returning to work.

The Howie Carr Show is syndicated across 19 stations in New England and is based at Boston’s WRKO.
